LPG deliveries normal, fuel stocks adequate as govt shares status report amid West Asia crisis

Adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available at all fuel pumps across the country, while delivery of domestic LPG cylinders remains normal, the Government of India said on Saturday as it shared the sector-wise status report in view of the evolving situation in West Asia.

Amid the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the government said that it has taken several steps to ensure uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and LPG across the country.

According to the government, refineries are operating at high capacity, with adequate crude inventories in place. LPG production from refineries has also been increased to support domestic consumption.

With Iran having reportedly allowed Indian vessels to sail through the chokepoint waterway, several cargo ships carrying petroleum products are also likely to arrive in the country, giving a further boost to the government’s efforts
