Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to extend the stamp duty exemption given to women to ex-servicemen and disabled people.

In a review meeting of the Stamp and Registration Department on Thursday, the chief minister gave many important instructions to the department. He said on the basis of positive experiences received under the pilot project in 5 districts, e-payment should now be made mandatory for registration fees of more than Rs 20,000 in all districts.

The chief minister, while taking information about the updated status of the department, said that the facility of Aadhaar authentication should be implemented to curb fraud. Similarly, e-registration system should be implemented through a single window system by simplifying the registration process for the allottees of the authorities.

He directed the department to complete the appointment process on the vacant posts soon, so that efficiency and quality of service can increase. He also said that there is a need to rationalize the commission of vendors by considering other options for stamp sales, and also said that stamp duty and registration fee should be waived on the lease agreement of small and medium class for a period of up to 10 years.

Departmental Minister Ravindra Jaiswal was also present in the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that 99 percent digitization work of registered deeds from the year 2002 to 2017 has been completed and now the next phase of action is going on. At present, more than 98 percent of registration work is being done through e-stamp.

Apart from this, discrepancies have been removed by revising the assessment list in various districts. CCTV cameras are being installed to strengthen the security system in sub-registration offices.
