Lamenting the party’s internal issues, including groupism and selfishness among local leaders, the former deputy speaker of the Kerala Assembly speaks on the lack of mutual cooperation within the party.

“They are only interested in backstabbing each other, and no one is working among the people. Under such circumstances, the Congress will finish third in the local body elections and fall flat in the next assembly election, ” Ravi is heard saying.

In the leaked audio clip, Palode Ravi is heard saying that the Congress party will become irrelevant and that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) is poised to retain power for a third consecutive term in the state.

“Congress will come third and the CPI-M will continue in power. This is what’s going to happen in Kerala. By then, it will be the downfall of this party,” Ravi is heard saying.

In the panchayat election, the party will be pushed to third spot. Similarly, in the Assembly election, it won’t succeed.

”You just wait and see what the BJP is going to do in 60 Assembly constituencies. Like in the Parliament election, they will buy votes with money. After the panchayat and Assembly polls congress ‘oru etukkacharakkakum’(Congress will become an unsought commodity)” he said.

. “With that, this party will decline. People from the Muslim community will join the CPI-M and other parties. Others will go to the BJP,” he further said.

After the audio triggered a controversy, Palode Ravi explained to the media that his intentions were genuine, to caution the party to rejuvenate its work for the upcoming polls.

KPCC president Sunny Joseph said he would speak to Palode Ravi and seek an explanation on the matter.
