“Accidents have become a routine affair in the country. Sometimes it’s a rail accident, sometimes a bridge develops cracks right after its inauguration. We haven’t even recovered from the recent plane crash when news of a bridge collapse in Gujarat came in.”

Quoting previous reports Kharge said: “The bridge was declared dangerous due to vibrations three years ago. Yet, nothing was done.”
“This is a result of leadership crisis, rampant corruption, lack of capacity to govern, and incompetence. We hope the people of the country are watching this and will respond appropriately when the time comes,” he said, accusing the BJP government of negligence and incompetence.
Citing the frequency of accidents and infrastructure failures in the country, Kharge pointed out that the Gujarat bridge collapse was the seventh such incident in the state since 2021. He said the bridge collapse highlights the government’s lack of attention to infrastructure safety.
Kharge expressed the hope that the public would take note of the government’s failures and respond accordingly in the future.
The Congress leader’s remarks come amid growing concerns over infrastructure safety and governance in the country.
