Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi, a government release said. The two leaders discussed various development projects and issues related to the state of Kerala.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister raised the issue of providing additional central assistance for the rehabilitation of Wayanad, which had been affected by a recent natural disaster.

According to sources, Vijayan also discussed the long-pending demand for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala.
The meeting touched on the development of national highways in Kerala, with the Chief Minister seeking central assistance for the projects.
The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen Centre-state relations and accelerate the completion of various projects in the state.
The meeting comes as part of the Chief Minister’s efforts to engage with the central government and secure support for Kerala’s development projects. The Prime Minister assured Vijayan of all possible support for the state’s development initiatives.
