Kerala BJP president Rajiv Chandrasekhar on Sunday cautioned Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin against attending the “Global Ayyappa Sangamam” (Global Ayyappa Summit) at Pampa in Sabarimala on September 10 without apologising to Hindus. The event is being organised by the LDF government.
In a social media post on X on Sunday, Chandrasekhar said: “If Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan misuse the faith of Ayyappa devotees, they will be stopped.” The BJP Kerala chief added that this is a clear message from BJP workers across the country and Hindus in Kerala and Tamil Nadu to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Chief Minister MK Stalin.

He said both Pinarayi Vijayan and MK Stalin have harmed and insulted Sabarimala, Ayyappa devotees, and the Hindu faith over the years. Pinarayi Vijayan imprisoned many Ayyappa devotees, filed cases against them, unleashed police violence, and did everything possible to violate and insult the rituals of Sabarimala.
“Both of you have harmed and insulted Sabarimala, Ayappa bhakts, and the Hindu faith over the years. Pinarayi Vijayan has imprisoned many Ayyapa bhakts, filed cases against many more, inflicted police violence on Ayyappa bhakts, and did everything to violate and insult the sacred traditions of Sabarimala,” the BJP Kerala chief wrote in his post on X.
Stalin and his worthless dynastic son repeatedly insulted Hindus and referred to the Hindu faith as a virus. All this is deeply engraved in the minds of every Hindu, and this will never be forgotten or forgiven, he said.
Therefore, the CPI-M government’s celebration of ‘Ayyappa Sangam’ with just a few months left for the elections is a drama and part of a strategy to “fool the people”, he further said in his post/
Pinarayi Vijayan and Stalin need to know one thing. They can only participate in the Ayyappa Sangam if they apologise to Hindus and Sabarimala Ayyappa devotees. Pinarayi Vijayan should withdraw all the cases and apologise to Ayyappa Swamy for violating the rituals of Sabarimala. If Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi want to come to Kerala, they should apologise to the Hindus.
Without doing any of this, if Stalin or Pinarayi tries to misuse Sabarimala devotees or their faith and participate in this event, every BJP worker will take to the streets in protest. You should not underestimate the power of the BJP in this regard. First, you should apologise. BJP will not allow the faith of any Indian to be insulted, Rajiv Chandrasekhar said.
“Ask for forgiveness first and then do your opportunistic politics. BJP will not permit anyone or any political party to insult any Hindu’s faith or anyone’s faith,” Chandrasekhar wrote in his post.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday said that DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s participation in the Global Ayyappa Sangamam (Global Ayyappa Summit) is akin to insulting Hindus.
Speaking to media persons in Thrissur, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the Global Ayyappa Summit, being held under the leadership of the Pinarayi Vijayan government, which is trying to destroy Ayyappa devotees and the beliefs of Sabarimala, is a farce.
Chandrasekhar said the Ayyappa Sangamam, organised by the CPI-M government with MK Stalin’s participation, is equivalent to Hitler standing up for the Jews, Rahul Gandhi telling the truth, Osama bin Laden becoming an apostle of peace, Hamas and Jamaat-e-Islami respecting non-believers, and Congress abandoning corruption.
In collaboration with the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), the CPI-M-led LDF government is organising an International Ayyappa Sangamam on September 20, 2025, at Pampa, the base of the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple. This event is part of the TDB’s platinum jubilee celebrations and aims to showcase Sabarimala’s cultural heritage to the world by bringing together spiritual leaders, scholars, devotees, and cultural representatives from various countries.
The state had witnessed violent protests after the LDF government decided to implement the 2018 Supreme Court verdict allowing women of all ages to offer prayers at the shrine.
