TRS MLC and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha has denied the allegations made in the chargesheet by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi Liquor scam terming them as ‘bogus and false’ as Opposition Congress and BJP sharpened their attack against her.

The agency accused her of holding a 65 per cent stake indirectly in a liquor company. She is said to be part of the South group along with Sarath Reddy and YSRCP MP Magunta Srinivasau Reddy, which paid kickbacks to Vijay Nair of the AAP to the tune of Rs 100 crore.

However, Kavitha denied the charges outright and accused the BJP of indulging in vendetta politics.

“The accusations on me are completely bogus and false. Only time will prove my sincerity. It’s a political vendetta of the BJP as they fear BRS party chief and Chief Minister KCR ji’s expose on their anti-farmer and pro capitalist policies,” wrote Kavitha on Twitter while replying to a tweet by AICC in-charge of Telangana Manickram Tagore.

The Congress MP had tagged her while tweeting a news report.

Similarly BJP leader Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy also tweeted a clipping from Telugu newspaper and referred to Kavitha as liquor queen, adding that her name was mentioned 28 times in the chargesheet submitted by the ED before a special judge.

Putting on a brave face, Kavitha replied: “Rajagopal Anna (brother), don’t rush. Even if my name is mentioned 28 times or 28000 times, a lie will still be not true. Truth will prevail.”

Kavitha was examined by the CBI on December 11 in Hyderabad and she was issued another notice by the agency to submit evidence to substantiate her statement.

Kavitha has been dubbed as the ‘liquor queen’ by the Opposition parties in the state ever since her name surfaced in connection with the liquor scam. Memes with morphed images are circulating in the social media over her links to the Delhi liquor scam.

The police even raided the Congress war office last week after memes using her morphed photos and targeting her allegedly surfaced from the office premises of poll strategist Sunil Kanugolu.
