Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy, the INDIA bloc’s candidate for the upcoming Vice Presidential election, arrived in Lucknow on Tuesday morning to a grand welcome by Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) workers at the airport. Supporters greeted him with drums and slogans of “Justice Reddy Zindabad”, as senior leaders from both parties gathered to receive him.
Justice Reddy’s visit to Lucknow marks the official launch of the INDIA bloc’s campaign for the Vice Presidential race. His schedule for the day is packed with key meetings and media interactions. He will go to the Uttar Pradesh Congress headquarters, where he will meet with Congress MPs, MLAs, and senior party leaders to discuss strategy for the election.

Following this, at 12:30 PM, Justice Reddy will visit the Samajwadi Party headquarters for a crucial meeting with SP National President Akhilesh Yadav. Both leaders are expected to address a joint press conference, where they will outline the INDIA bloc’s vision and strategy for the Vice Presidential election.

Leaders from both Congress and SP have expressed confidence in Reddy’s candidacy, highlighting his clean image and vast experience in the judiciary. State Congress President Ajay Rai stated, “Justice Reddy’s arrival brings new energy to the INDIA bloc in Uttar Pradesh. United, we will win this election.”
Justice Reddy is a former judge of the Supreme Court and High Court, widely respected for his judicial integrity and service. He has been projected by the INDIA bloc as a credible and dignified face for the Vice Presidential post.
He will face off against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate C P Radhakrishnan from Tamil Nadu in the upcoming election.
