Judge resigns after officer she accused of harassment made MP HC judge

A woman civil judge posted in Madhya Pradesh tendered her resignation on Wednesday alleging that a senior male judge whom she had accused of harassment was promoted to the post of judge in the High Court.

According to sources, she mentioned in her resignation letter that she felt broken because the judiciary failed to protect her.

She pointed out that she had earlier sent written complaints to President Droupadi Murmu, Chief Justice of MP High Court, Registrar General, Supreme Court, and the Collegium against the male judge, protesting his elevation.

However, she said no one even responded to it, leave aside taking any action.

The woman judge was posted in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.
