The Eastern Tech Symposium 2025, held at Kerketa Auditorium in Dipatoli Cantonment under the chairmanship of Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, highlighted the growing potential of Jharkhand’s industries to collaborate with the Indian Army.

The event was jointly organized by the Army’s Eastern Command, the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), with participation from the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI).

“If local enterprises can cater to the Army’s requirements, it will not only expand trade but also give every Jharkhandi pride in contributing directly to national security,” he said.

The Chamber, he added, would serve as a bridge between the Army, industries, and government while preparing entrepreneurs to meet defense supply standards through workshops and capacity-building efforts.

Union Minister Sanjay Seth urged entrepreneurs to actively participate in the upcoming East Tech next month, describing it as a major opportunity for the state’s industry to enter the defense manufacturing and supply chain.

FJCCI Secretary General Aditya Malhotra stressed that there is “immense scope for collaboration between the Army and industries” and assured that the Chamber would provide a platform to connect businesses with these opportunities. Joint Secretary Navjot Alang added that linking local enterprises to the defense sector would strengthen both economic growth and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The symposium served as a curtain-raiser for East Tech 2025, with industry leaders hopeful that it could open new doors for Jharkhand’s industrial base, diversifying it beyond minerals and steel and positioning the state as an emerging hub for defense-related innovation and supply.
