The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued an Israeli couple from a rock hill in Liker village in Leh. The two had been stuck on the steep hill for hours as they were unable to come down.

The tourist couple have been identified as Dubiniwski Barak and Fragin Chasys Mushka from Israel.

Police said on Wednesday the SDRF in Leh received information on Tuesday that a foreigner couple had been stuck on a rock hill in a Liker-Saspochay village.

The In-charge Deputy Controller Civil Defence, Leh, Ladakh, then deputed a five-member team for the rescue operation.

After conducting a search, the SDRF team spotted the couple on a steep rock hill. The two were rescued safely by the trained SDRF team. The Israeli couple told the team that they had climbed the rock hill but were unable to come down.
