Controversy’s new ‘child’, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb, seems to have a repository of inappropriate remarks!

In his latest outburst, the Tripura CM has threatened to chop off nails of people if they interfere with his government and governance.

As per media reports, a video surfaced on social media, in which Biplab Deb can be heard using an agriculture analogy to put his point across.

As per The Economic Times Deb said, “Around 8 am, a vegetable vendor brings bottle gourd to the market. However, it gets rotten by 9 am due to repeated digging of nails by customers. I will not allow this to happen with my government. If someone pierces or interferes, his nails should be pulled out. No one can touch my government.”

However, this is not the first time that the newly elected Chief Minister has given a controversial statement. From claiming that Internet and satellite communication existed in the days of Mahabharata to making a remark on 1997 Miss World Diana Hayden’s skin colour, Biplab Deb has become the face of outlandish statements.

Biplab Deb has also been accused of trivialising the issue of unemployment, on the back of which he contested elections in the state. At an event organised by a veterinary body, Biplab Deb said that the youth in Tripura waste time in chasing political parties to get a government job. “Had the same youth set up a “paan shop” he/she would have by now had a bank balance of Rs 5 lakh,” he said.

He also urged youth to opt for breeding cows and open ‘paan shops’ if faced with unemployment.

His problem solving skills were also seen at another event, where he suggested that those who have studied mechanical engineering should not prepare for civil services, whereas civil engineers are better suited for civil services as they own the prowess to build society.
