India has registered 236 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
The overall Covid caseload in the country rose to 4,50,24,190 with the detection of the new cases of infections. It includes the new JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the data of the ministry, of the new cases, Karnataka reported 161 cases, 22 Maharashtra and 12 from Kerala. The national capital reported one Covid case.

Three more person succumbed to the disease during the period, pushing the death toll to 5,33,439. Two deaths were reported from West Bengal and one from Karnataka.
On a positive note, the recovery tally rose to 4,44,88,720 as 236 more people recuperated from the disease.
The active cases in the country stand at 2,031.
