Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, marking the formal opening of a five-day showcase aimed at positioning India at the centre of the global artificial intelligence ecosystem.

The Expo, being held from February 16 to 20 alongside the India AI Impact Summit, is expected to draw more than 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates.

The event, spread across more than 70,000 square metres and structured around the themes of People, Planet and Progress, is being presented as a large-scale demonstration of AI in action, bringing together governments, startups, industry, and academia at a time when artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping economies and governance worldwide.

Here are 10 key things to know about the event:

  1. The Expo will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16 to 20.
  2. It will run alongside the India AI Impact Summit at the same venue.
  3. The event spans over 70,000 square metres across 10 arenas.
  4. Thirteen country pavilions will showcase global collaboration in AI, including Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and African countries.
  5. More than 600 high-potential startups are set to participate, many presenting population-scale solutions already deployed in real-world settings.
  6. Over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations will be featured.
  7. The Expo is organised around three thematic “chakras” — People, Planet and Progress.
  8. Organisers expect participation from over 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates.
  9. More than 500 sessions will be held, featuring over 3,250 speakers and panellists.
  10. According to a PMO statement, the Expo aims to serve as a national demonstration of AI in action, where policy meets practice and innovation meets scale, while fostering partnerships and new business opportunities within the global AI ecosystem.
