In preparation for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Investigation Directorate of Income Tax Department, North East Region, has deployed various monitoring teams across Assam. These teams include a 24×7 Control Room cum Complaint Monitoring Cell in the state capital, Rapid Action Teams (RAT), District Monitoring Teams in each district, and Air Intelligence Units (AIU) stationed at all airports in the state. The objective is to prevent the use of black money in the electoral process.

The Monitoring Teams have been tasked with ensuring the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and transparently. They will monitor the movement of unaccounted cash and its potential role in influencing the election process, adhering to guidelines and mandates issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Citizens are encouraged to report any complaints or information related to cash or other items suspected to be used for bribing voters to the Control Room. Reports can be submitted via toll-free number or WhatsApp.

Additionally, individuals with information about the storage, possession, or movement of large amounts of cash or valuables are urged to contact the Control Room cum Complaint Monitoring Cell established specifically for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Assam.
