Reacting to Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s claims, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said it cannot be blamed if he is unable to secure votes. Party leaders remarked that Gandhi has been facing repeated electoral defeats and is a leader “rejected by the public.” They added that his growing frustration has pushed him to adopt a politics of baseless allegations as his only tool.
BJP leader Anurag Thakur in a presser said, “Election after election defeats and a leader who has been rejected by the public, under whose leadership the Congress party has lost nearly 90 elections, his frustration and despair is increasing day by day.” He added that the Congress had made the “politics of allegations their ornament”.

When the Election Commission asks them to verify the allegations they themselves have made, they turn their back and run away, the BJP leader stated further.
When asked to file an affidavit, they back out, Thakur further said, adding “making false and baseless allegations” has become a habit of Rahul Gandhi.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned whether Rahul Gandhi understands the Constitution? He went to the Supreme Court; the apex Court issued directions. Did he make a stake? He does not understand the law or the Supreme Court’s directions, Prasad said.
He only shouts ‘Samvidhan, Samvidhan’… The main thing is clear; if Rahul Gandhi does not get votes, then what can we do? he asked.
“The nation will never forget his actions. He is the LoP. He should have some values. He is insulting the country’s voters. The people will again give him befitting reply. All his bombs will defuse. He trusts no one. I condemn this,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of protecting those involved in what he described as a “systematic and centralised vote theft” operation by deleting votes of Congress supporters and marginalised communities.
Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Rahul Gandhi said this was not the long-promised “hydrogen bomb” revelation but an exposé of a pattern allegedly used to “steal votes” from electoral rolls across India.
“I am making a claim about CEC Gyanesh Kumar after solid proof that is black and white and absolutely clear — the CEC is protecting the people who are destroying Indian democracy,” he said.
He backed his claims with a detailed presentation and documents which he described as a clear evidence of ‘vote chori’ (vote theft) being carried out through digital manipulation of the electoral process.
Citing multiple examples from the Aland constituency in Karnataka, he claimed that someone has been doing voter deletion in a systematic way.
“During our investigation, we found out that deletion requests are being filed online. Mobile numbers that are used are not of Karnataka but other states,” he said, adding “names of Congress voters were being deleted in a targeted manner.”
