Uttarakhand: IAF launches bambi bucket operation to douse forest fire
Seeing the blaze moving towards the Bhowali based Indian Air Force station area, the IAF began its aerial fire fighting, pouring water streams over the affected areas
The Indian Airforce on Saturday airlifted 737 stranded students and others to Leh (Ladakh) from Jammu and Srinagar.
Three sorties of IL-76 aircrafts were conducted to fly these persons to Leh.
As many as 514 persons belonging to Kargil were airlifted to Leh in two sorties and 223 people from Srinagar in a single sortie.

These passengers expressed gratitude to the authorities, especially the IAF, for airlifting them.
