As the twin plants of Ambuja cement plant T Darlaghat and Gagal shut its operations in the state, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed senior officials for a speedy settlement of the dispute.

The management of the company, in a notice, had stated that due to the rising operational cost that include transportation and raw material and prevailing market conditions, the transporting of cement has reduced drastically, which resulted in the poor dispatch of cement.

It has adversely affected the market share of the company due to which the company is suffering huge financial losses, maintained the management, informing all the employees not to attend duties with immediate effect till further instructions.
Principal Advisor (Media) to the CM Naresh Chauhan said here on Thursday that Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has taken the matter of two cement factories of the state seriously.

He said as soon as the information about this dispute was received, the chief minister accessed the details from Delhi itself and ordered the state chief secretary to take action on various aspects.

The chief minister has directed the officers to identify the reasons for the dispute between the factory management and various truck operator unions and has asked them to take immediate steps to resolve it.

For this, the deputy commissioners of both districts have been asked to resolve the dispute on a priority basis after holding talks with both parties, he added.

Chauhan said thousands of people are getting direct and indirect employment in both these cement factories and their families are earning their livelihood from here.

He said that protecting the interests of the people of the state is the top priority of the government and the state government is very serious about resolving this dispute.

As per the information received this dispute first popped up between the cement companies and the transporters regarding the increase in freight charges and the state government after holding talks with all the parties will soon resolve the dispute, he added.
