Five members of a family commit suicide in Rajasthan

Five members of a family committed suicide in their Palawas Road flat in Sikar town of Rajasthan.

The family of five, comprising a woman named Kiran, her two sons, and two daughters, resided in a flat in an apartment on Palawas Road. They are believed to have committed suicide a few days ago by consuming a poisonous substance.

Since they had not been seen outdoors for the past few days, neighbours called the police on Saturday. The police broke open the gate to enter the flat and found five partially decomposed and discoloured bodies.

The room was so foul-smelling that the police were forced to light incense sticks and spray perfume to investigate the case.

The police are yet to ascertain the reason that led the deceased to take this extreme step.
