An accident occurred due to fire during Aarti at the Atma Veereshwar temple located in the Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. Seven people, including the priest, received burn injuries in this incident and were admitted to the divisional hospital.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police T. Saravanan said that the fire broke out during the Aarti under Chowk police station area on Saturday night. The condition of all the injured is out of danger.

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Dr Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ reached Kabirchaura Hospital to meet the injured. He said that the five injured have been referred to the Banaras Hindu University(BHU) hospital.

On the occasion of Sawan Purnima, the Atma Veereshwar Mahadev temple was decorated with cotton. During the Aarti, a fire broke out in the temple premises. Due to the narrow street, fire brigade vehicles and ambulances could not reach inside.

With the help of the police and local people, the injured were taken to the hospital. The injured include Krishna, Satyam Pandey, Prince Pandey, Dev Narayan Pandey, Baikunthanath Mishra, Sandhya Mishra, and Shivana Mishra.
