The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted search operations across multiple states in connection with a drug trafficking and money laundering network with international links.

Searches were carried out at various locations in Aizawl and Champhai in Mizoram, Sribhumi (Karimganj) in Assam, and Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

The investigation originated from a Mizoram Police case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, involving the seizure of 4.724 kg of heroin valued at approximately Rs. 1.41 crore and the arrest of nine individuals.

Financial analysis revealed links between Mizoram-based firms and Gujarat-based entity Krishiv Enterprises, which allegedly supplied pseudoephedrine tablets and caffeine anhydrous worth Rs. 4.54 crore during 2024-25 to Mizoram. These supplies were connected to individuals Henry Lalbiakzinga, Laltluangzela, and Benjamin Lalawmpuia.

The network utilized habitual offenders, including Abu Saleh Saif Uddin of Assam, and Zodinthara and Lalrampari of Champhai, for smuggling and hawala operations. Further financial linkages were established with Kolkata-based shell entities, including Mahasin Tradecom.

Investigation revealed that precursors for methamphetamine production are transported from India to Myanmar through porous borders, with final products smuggled back into India Mizoram.

The ED seized cash amounting to Rs. 46.7 lakh, along with digital devices and accounting records during the searches. Evidence indicates that the GST credentials of Indian nationals were misused by Myanmar nationals to procure raw materials for drug manufacturing.

The probe has frozen 21 bank accounts suspected of being used for parking proceeds of crime. Investigation is ongoing.
