East Coast Railway records highest-ever scrap disposal revenue in 2025-26 fiscal
East Coast Railway has achieved a significant milestone in scrap disposal during the financial year 2025–26, recording its highest-ever revenue of Rs 290.22 crore.
In response to sustained public demand and patronage, the periodicity of some special trains has been extended, said ECoR officials.

In a move to enhance passenger convenience and address growing travel demand, East Coast Railway has announced the extension of periodicity and augmentation of some trains to meet increased passenger demand and ensure better travel convenience.

The trains that have either had their periodicity extended or been augmented include Train No. 02832/02831 Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad Special. This train will now continue to run from Bhubaneswar and Dhanbad until 31 July 2025. The service has been extended up to 1 August.

Similarly, Train No. 02839/02840 Shalimar-Puri-Special will continue to operate from both Shalimar and Puri until 31 August. The service has been extended up to 1 September.
Besides, 20707/20708 Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam-
Furthermore, 18117/18118 Rourkela-Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express has been augmented with one sleeper class coach and one AC 2-Tier coach.
