The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday issued the notification for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for November 11. This phase will cover 122 constituencies across the state. The notification kick-starts the process of filing nominations for contesting candidates.
In addition to the Bihar Assembly elections, the ECI has also issued notifications for eight Assembly bypolls across seven states and Union Territories. These by-elections will be held on November 11, concurrently with the second phase of the Bihar Assembly polls.

The states and Union Territory involved are Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Telangana,Punjab, Mizoram and Odisha.

The last date for filing nominations is October 20, while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 23. Counting of votes for both the Bihar elections and the bypolls will take place on November 14.
To ensure a smooth and fair election process, the ECI has deployed approximately 8.5 lakh officials across Bihar.
