Despite the arrest of six persons in the Durgapur MBBS student rape case, including her classmate, the father of the survivor has demanded a CBI probe.

Since the first day, the father of the victim had been demanding arrest of the classmate, who was present along with her and had expressed his dissatisfaction about the police investigations in this case. The survivor’s father has also said that if the chief minister Mamata Banerjee is hurt by his demand, then he seeks apology from her.

“I have personally talked with him for an hour and if he wishes we will provide the family police escort during their stay in Durgapur.

The cops are trying their level best and have already arrested six accused in this case and seized clothes and mobile phone snatched from the victim. NTPS police need time for getting the medico legal papers and FSL reports which are vital evidence in this case,” he added.

Meanwhile, NTPS Police has forwarded Wasif Ali, the 23-year-old second year MBBS student from Malda, to Durgapur Sub-Divisional Court. No advocates of Durgapur Court appeared for moving his bail petition and a state legal aid service advocate turned up for him in court.

Chandana Banerjee, vice-president of Durgapur Bar Association said that no member will stand for the accused in this rape case of the second year medical student.

NTPS police have sought 10 days’ police custody for the second year college student, who was arrested late last evening after a marathon interrogation since the past few days by the top cops.

The statement of the victim has also been recorded under 164 already.

Mohan Charan Majhi, CM of Odisha has also spoken to the girl’s mother and offered all support. The family now wishes to shift her to Bhubaneswar AIIMS as soon as possible.
