The Bihar election results were declared on Friday and Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), which was a new entrant to the state’s political scene, drew a blank. The party, in fact, didn’t even once take a lead on any of the seats it contested in the Bihar Assembly Election 2025, as per the Election Commission of India results.

The former poll strategist’s party has now said the cash transfer to women’s accounts proved to be the key reason behind the NDA’s huge victory and his party’s loss.

Jan Suraaj Party’s national president, Uday Singh, told reporters today that while the party has failed to win even a single seat, it will continue to oppose the NDA in the state.

Singh said the party also failed to woo the Muslim voters in Bihar. He added that the results also prove that the people of Bihar did not want to bring back the RJD.

“We are disappointed with our performance in the Bihar polls. In the last 2–3 days, our votes shifted to the NDA to prevent the RJD from coming to power. The Delhi bomb blast had an impact in Seemanchal, as it was used to polarise votes. We failed to convince Muslim voters, and this is an area where we clearly fell short,” the Jan Suraaj president told the media.

He added that the cash transfer of Rs 40,000 crore to the accounts of women by the ruling NDA government just before the elections played an “important role” in its victory.

“The cash transfer to women’s accounts played a major role in the NDA’s victory in the Bihar polls. This support came while the Model Code of Conduct was in place,” Singh said.

Singh was talking about the Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, as part of which the government transferred Rs 10,000 each to the bank accounts of women in the state.

He called it an attempt by the government to bribe the voters of Bihar, categorically referring to it as the purchase of votes.

However, adding controversy to the debate, Singh suggested that the women naturally voted for the NDA, which paid them Rs 10,000.

“A woman who is ready to do any work for an entire day for Rs 500 will naturally cast her vote for Rs 10,000,” he said, adding, “We are now waiting to see how the government will transfer the remaining Rs 2 lakh to the accounts of women in the state.”

On being asked whether Prashant Kishor would continue to remain in politics, Singh said this could only be answered by Kishor. Prashant Kishor had earlier said that he would quit active politics if Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) won more than 25 seats. In the Bihar results, the JD(U) bagged 85 seats.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Jan Suraaj founder Kishor will hold a press conference in Patna at 11 am on Sunday and spell out the party’s next strategy.
