“We came here yesterday. We are feeling great. We are not concerned about the huge crowd, we just wish to see Ram Lalla…,” a devotee from Maharashtra said.

The gigantic Ram temple was opened on Sunday after a mega ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony, which was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The eyes of Ram Lalla, a five-year-old depiction of Lord Ram were unveiled in the presence of PM Modi and several others dignitaries which included RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state Governor Anandi Ben Patel.

Speaking about the rush of devotees, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das said a glimpse of “tretayug” was being seen in Ayodhya.

“After the Pran Pratishtha, the city of Ayodhya is looking divine…A glimpse of ‘Tretayug’ is being seen at this time. Ayodhya is filled with groups of devotees…So many people are present here for darshan on the first day. Not all of them will be able to have darshan today…Group of 4000 saints have also come…Today, the city of Ayodhya is ‘Rammaya’…,” the priest said.

Speaking about yesterday’s ceremony, Prime Minister Modi today said that January 22, the day when Ram temple’s consecration ceremony was held, will be etched in people’s memories for years to come.

“What we saw in Ayodhya yesterday, 22nd January, will be etched in our memories for years to come,” Modi wrote in a post on ‘X’.
