The crackdown on the alleged religious conversion racket led by Chhangur Baba alias Jalaluddin in Uttar Pradesh continued with demolition of illegal constructions.

On Saturday, authorities demolished the house of Chhangur’s nephew, Sabroz, in Balrampur district. The demolition, carried out using two bulldozers, was completed within 30 minutes under heavy police presence.

Sabroz, who was arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on July 19, was found to be closely involved in Chhangur Baba’s network. He reportedly managed operations for the group in Balrampur.

The ATS arrested him following the earlier detention of Chhangur Baba and his associate, Nasreen.

The demolished house was located in Rehra Mafi village, within the Gaidas Buzurg police station area of Utraula tehsil, just 1 kilometer from Chhangur and Nasreen’s property.

According to the administration, the structure was built illegally on about 300 square feet of encroached land. The house included a room, a kitchen, and a veranda.

Officials from Utraula tehsil arrived with bulldozers at 11 a.m. on Saturday to carry out the demolition. Authorities stated that Sabroz had been served three prior notices regarding the encroachment, the last of which was issued on July 18.\

Earlier this month, on July 8, 9, and 10, the administration had demolished a lavish Rs 3 crore kothi belonging to Nasreen, located nearby.
