Delhi is gearing up to welcome the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, on December 24. The National Capital is preparing to host the foot march event till 3 January, 2023.
Talking to media, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president, Chaudhary Anil Kumar, said that the party workers are fully geared for it and that the state unit will spare no effort to ensure that apart from the party leaders and workers, the common people can join it.
Addressing executive committee members, office-bearers from the Block and District Congress Committees, besides senior leaders and workers at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan on Wednesday, Chaudhary Anil Kumar claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was unifying the people across the country defying divisive politics by the BJP in the form of communal lines.
Chaudhary said Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is historic in many ways, as it is not only posing a challenge for the BJP, but in various other ways.
He said that after walking with Rahul Gandhi for a few kilometres, he felt a surge in energy and wanted to go on.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) In-charge of Delhi, Shakti Singh Gohil, said Rahul Gandhi’s 155-day long foot march covering 3500-km, 25 to 30 kms daily on average, would create a world record, as it was an historic feat, never before attempted by anyone else.
He said the nation was fed up with the vote-bank politics of BJP and its minions, as their only agenda was to divide the people to make gains in electoral politics, while Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was to mend the rekindle the broken spirits and sagging morale of the people, due to the suppression of democratic values and the Opposition, who raise its voice when people in power try to crush the voice for a reason.
Gohil said that the Congress has a history of fighting back from setbacks, and under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Congress staged a tremendous comeback, when the Congress-led UPA Government was in power at the Centre for 10 years, there was a time when Congress was in power in 19 States.
