Opposition Leader in the Kerala Assembly, VD Satheesan, on Friday alleged that the CPI(M) is aiding the growth of communal forces and is now working to provide space for them in Kerala.
Speaking to media persons in Kannur, Satheesan said that the Congress and the UDF have taken up the political mission of exposing so-called “hypocritical bhakti groups” associated with the Sabarimala controversy.

He clarified that community organisations such as the NSS and the SNDP were free to pursue their own positions. However, the UDF’s political stance, he asserted, was firmly rooted in defending secular values without compromise.

“The Congress-led UDF is committed to secularism, and there will be no compromise on it,” he said.
Accusing the CPI(M) of appeasing the majority community after the Lok Sabha polls, Satheesan alleged that the party is now moving along the path of the BJP.
