Students along with their parents on Thursday protested in New Delhi and in some other parts of the country against the CBSE paper leak and demanded that re-tests be conducted for all exams or none at all.

With the CBSE paper leak controversy gathering storm, the opposition has now launched a scathing attack on the Centre, and the education board for its mismanagement and lack of vigilance.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi took a jibe at PM Narendra Modi while asserting that the watchman (Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had once described himself as the country’s “chowkidar”) is weak.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Twitter posted an interaction with a student, who said, “From a student upset about the #CBSEPaperLeak : what’s the guarantee that retest paper will not be leaked? And how can I concentrate again on my studies? I just feel bad every time. The same pain one gets when he /she is cheated. And we are cheated! Shame on this Government”


Delhi Congress Chief Ajay Maken wrote on Twitter that his son, who appeared for Class 10 board, is extremely dejected because of CBSE paper leak controversy.

He said, “My son Aujaswi studied really hard for #CBSE Class X Board Math Exams held today. His joy of finishing Board Exams was short lived. He is extremely dejected as the Math paper got leaked& this #LeakingGovt will hold the Exam again. I feel sorry for him as lakhs of other students!”.

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal slammed BJP over incidents of CBSE, ECI and Aadhaar data leak.

Congress leader from Madhya Pradesh Jyotiraditya Scindia termed the leak as “disgraceful & unacceptable”. He said, ” First #SSC, now #CBSE – this exam paper leak is disgraceful & unacceptable. Feel extremely sorry for the lakhs of children who are suffering & being punished because of govt incompetence. Heads must roll!”.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a tweet called for action against people responsible in the CBSE paper leak.

He said, ” I really feel sorry and sad for the students who have to give their exams again for no fault of theirs. Responsibility shud be fixed n strict action shud be taken against those responsible”.

Raising slogans of ‘we want justice’, the X and XII Class students of schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) gathered near Jantar Mantar and demanded strict action against the culprits.

More than 28 lakh students have been affected by CBSE decision on Wednesday to re-conduct examination for two papers of Class X and XII.

As per the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), a total of 16,38,428 and 11,86,306 students had registered for examination this year for Class X and Class XII, respectively.

The board had announced it will re-conduct exams for mathematics paper of Class X and economics paper of Class XII after leak of both papers on social media message application. The exam for both the papers were held on Wednesday.

The Union government had said a police investigation had been ordered, and assured the students and parents on the arrest of culprits soon.
