Congress holds protest march in Jaipur over NEET paper leak braving water cannons

A number of Congress workers were injured as the police used water cannon to dispell them after a clash with the cops during a protest march they held in protest against NEET-2026 paper leak here Thursday.

The principal Opposition party organised the protest march from its state headquarters, Indira Gandhi Bhawan to the ruling BJP’s state headquarters to lay siege and press its demands.

The party’s state president Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tikaram Jully led the march. Many party MPs and legislators, including Murari Meena, Harish Chand Meena, MLAs Rafik Khan, Mukesh Bhakar, former Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and ex-MLA Ved Prakash Solanki, took part in the march.

As the march reached Shaheed Memorial, police used multi-tier barricades to stop the protesters and denied them permission to march further. When the protesters tried to move on by scaling the barricades, the police used a water cannon to disperse the irate crowd. Police officers were seen pushing back some leaders including Bhakar and Solanki.Former Minister Khachariyawas was seen sitting on dharna on the road outside the Police Commissionerate for sometime.

The roughing-scuffling and water cannon left a number of persons injured, some of the injured party men were rushed to the SMS Hospital here. PCC Chief Dotasra and LoP Jully went to the hospital to see the injured and inquire about their condition.

Earlier, Dotasra while addressing workers at the Shaheed Memorial asserted that the NEET exam had been tainted by paper leaks in successive three years, the government did not probe duly or discussed in the Lok Sabha last year, despite pressing demand from our party.

Now, this established as a case of failure of the National Testing Agency(NTA) and also that of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, hence we would continue to press for resignation from Pradhan and disbanding of NTA.

Yesterday too, the party students wing the National Students Union of India (NSUI) had held massive demonstration and march in Kota, the hub of coaching for Medical/Engineering courses.
