CJ Roy’s death: Kerala CM writes to Nirmala Sitharaman for judicial probe
In a letter dated Sunday, Vijayan said the suspected suicide of the real estate tycoon had shocked civic society and the business community.
The officials said that Income Tax raids had been conducted at his premises over the past two days.
Confident Group founder and chairman CJ Roy was Friday found dead inside his office. He allegedly shot himself following income-tax raids at his premises.
According to officials, incident occurred on Friday at his office within the limits of Ashok Nagar police station, where the chairman of the Confident Group shot himself.

Following the incident, the FSL and SOCO teams have launched an investigation. The officials said that Income Tax raids had been conducted at his premises over the past two days.

“The SOCO (Scene of Crime Officer) team and the FSL team are investigating the matter. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead,” Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said in a statement.
The Commissioner further added, “The Income Tax team had been searching his premises for the past 2-3 days. A team from Kerala had also come. The police are in contact with the family members, who are currently not in India and are arriving by flight today.”
He said that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. “There had been raids before as well. We are yet to have the details of that,” he added.
