Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has sanctioned Rs 1012.92 crore for renovation or repairs of flood-ravaged public properties, including buildings of the government installations – schools, health centers, anganbadis, dams, anicuts and roads.
These infrastructure properties, as many as 50,288 in number, had been damaged in the floods and heavy rains in the state during the monsoon season this year, an official spokesman said here Saturday.

The damaged properties included 14,212 roads and 1161 culverts that needed Rs 294 crore for repair or renovation, and 7911 Anganbadi Centers, which would be repaired-renovated at a cost of Rs 173 crore, he said.
The financial approvals at the level of the chief minister would provide Rs 487 crore for repairs and renovation of schools and other properties of the state education department, which numbered as high as 24,531.
Rs 60 crores would be incurred on repairs and renovation of government properties in Jaipur district.
Besides widespread damage to public property, at least 193 people have died and 36 were injured in rain or flood-related incidents this monsoon in the state, according to a statement by Relief Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena in the state assembly on September 4, 2025.
Quoting the SDRF survey, the minister had said, “Besides worrisome loss of 193 human lives, private properties, 1974 Pucca Houses, 752 Thatched Houses and 190 huts were also damaged. As many as 626 cattle-heads or domesticated animals died in the floods”.
