Lokayukta expedites MUDA probe; CM Siddaramaiah prepares to put caste census report in Cabinet
The Karnataka Lokayukta has expedited the probe in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

In yet another horrifying case of mob justice, Google software engineer Mohammed Azam Ahmed (32) was beaten to death by a mob in Karnataka’s Bidar district on suspicion of him belonging to a gang of child lifters.
Three others, including a Qatar national, were also attacked and are critically injured. They were identified as Salham Eidal Kubaisi, who is from Qatar, and Noor Mohammed and Mohammed Salman from Barkas in Hyderabad. After the attack, they were rushed initially to the Bidar Government hospital before being shifted to Hyderabad.
According to media reports, Azam Ahmed, who belonged to Malakpet in Hyderabad, died on the spot.

Thirty people, who were reportedly part of the mob, have been arrested so far.
The victims were returning to Hyderabad after having lunch at their friend Basheer’s place. While returning, Salham saw some children playing and offered them chocolates. When the villagers noticed this, they attacked the group. Some of the people reportedly circulated their pictures.
During the attack, the men got into their car and tried to run, but the villagers blocked their way.
Even after the intervention of police, the angry mob continued to thrash the victims. An inspector and a constable were also left injured.
The WhatsApp administrators, who reportedly circulated the pictures of the four men on the messaging App, were arrested too.
