In this regard, UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) had handed over all documents to the ED, and thereafter, the investigating agency has decided to raid the locations.

ADG Law and Order, Amitabh Yash, had said, “Interrogation of Chhangur Baba and his main aide Neetu alias Nasreen has revealed that gang members opened more than 40 bank accounts in their names and at different institutions, of which about Rs 100 crore have been transacted”.

On July 5, Chhangur Baba was arrested in Lucknow along with Neetu alias Nasreen. It is being reported that the Chhangur gang has formed a secret team of 1500 people in five states, including UP and Maharashtra. Their targets were women under 30 years of age. They also used codewords for conversion.

According to the ATS, there has been a transaction of about Rs 100 crore from Chhangur Baba’s bank account. Out of this, Rs 14 crore has come from foreign funding. Chhangur Baba is accused of promoting Islam through his religious discourses, the publication of a book titled Shijra-e-Tayyaba, which has also been recovered from Chhangur, and strategic psychological influence.
