A businessman-politician has levelled serious allegations against Chandra Shekhar Azad and his Azad Samaj Party (ASP) of encroaching upon his high-value office property in the Civil Lines area of the national capital.
Naren Bhikuram Jain, who once reportedly provided a bungalow to AAP supremo and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and later joined Azad’s party, told this newspaper that he rented the office to the ASP in 2021. He now alleges that the party is refusing to vacate the premises.

“In 2021, they rented the office. Now they are saying they will not vacate the house,” Jain said. He further claimed that the party is demanding a payment of Rs 10 lakh from him to leave the property.
The market rent for the property is reportedly around Rs 1 lakh per month, but Jain said he had a contract for only Rs 10,000 per month with the party. He also alleged that the cheques provided to him by the party bounced.
