Criticising the Agnipath Scheme for recruitment of youth in the armed forces for four years, Himachal Pradesh Congress President and MP Pratibha Singh, on Saturday, said through the scheme, the Central government is playing with the future of the army aspirants.

In a statement, Pratibha Singh expressed concern over the growing resentment among the youths of the country.  She said only the youths who have the zeal to die for the country work hard for recruitment in the army.

She said that any compromise on the protection of the borders of the country could prove fatal for the internal and external security of the country. “So recruitment in the army should be done as per pre-determined rules and for the entire time period,” she stressed.
