Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on Thursday directed the Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) to take immediate action after cow dung was thrown and a slipper was hurled at the car of Deputy CM and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Sinha.
Following the attack, the Election Commission of India assured that no one will be allowed to take the law into their hands and strict action will be taken against those who targeted the BJP leader.

CEC Kumar, according to ANI, also requested voters to cast their votes without any kind of fear in their respective booths.
The commission’s reaction came shortly after Sinha’s car was allegedly attacked by people, who chanted ‘murdabad’ slogans and hurled slippers at the vehicle. They also threw cow dung on his car, and Sinha alleged that stones were also pelted.
He quickly blamed the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the attack. “These are the goons of RJD. Satta mein aa rahi hai NDA isliye inke chhati pe bulldozer chalega (NDA is coming to power and they will face bulldozer action).”
He further alleged the “goons of RJD” were not letting him visit Khoriari village in his constituency, where the alleged attack took place.
