In his statement issued to the media late evening on Wednesday, the District Magistrate Bulandshahr Abhay Singh, contradicting some media reports cleared that the CBI during its raid did not recover the amount of money as was reported in the news. He also said that the mining contracts which are under the scanner of the CBI were not allotted during his tenure as DM Fatehpur.
Followed by the CBI raid at the official residence of District Magistrate Abhay Singh in Bulandshahr on Wednesday, the DM issued a written statement in this regard. Rejecting the claims of recovery of a certain amount of cash by the CBI in its raid which was said to be in a tune of lakhs, the DM cleared that no such recovery was made. “I gave details of the cash which was with me at the time of the raid,” he said.
In his statement, the DM said that the CBI had come to inquire about some mining-related work in district Fatehpur. “I clarified to them that these mining contracts which are being probed were not undertaken during my tenure as DM in district Fatehpur,” he said.
Clarifying further, Singh said that the CBI had solely come to inquire about the mining contracts of district Fatehpur and not about any of his works in Bulandshahr district.
“The CBI did not inquire about any kind of irregularities during my tenure in District Bulandshahr,” he said, adding that on the contrary, he has successfully implemented various welfare schemes of the state government in district Bulandshahr. For this, he got appreciation from his senior officials who had found his efforts convincing.
“I am implementing state government’s policies and schemes with utmost honesty and transparency,” he asserted.
