RSS Chief and Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday said that after the completion of the Ram Temple, it is now the people’s duty to accelerate the work to build a new India in the name of Ram Lalla.

Addressing the ceremony after hoisting the Dharma Dhwaj with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the forecourt of the Ram temple complex, he said the temple has been built exactly as they had envisioned, and it is even more magnificent.

Bhagwat said, “We must build a Bharat that offers truth to the world. We must work even in adverse circumstances. This is a day to renew our resolve. We must build an India that brings happiness and peace to everyone; this is the world’s expectation.”

He claimed, “Today is a day of significance for all of us. The souls of those who sacrificed their lives for this must have been satisfied. Ashoka (Singhal) ji must have found peace there. Today, the temple’s flag has been hoisted. The flag of Ram Rajya, which once flew in Ayodhya, has been hoisted today. This saffron flag bears the Kovidar tree, the symbol of the Raghukul clan and symbolises the power of the Raghukul clan. This is the tree about which it is said that it provides shade for everyone, standing in the sun itself, yet also providing fruits for others.”

He said that even if one ignores the centuries-long struggle, it still took at least 30 years to reach this moment. “This saffron flag — the Bhagwa — is a dharma dhwaj which is now there atop the temple,” he added.

The RSS chief said, ”The flag of Ram Rajya, which once fluttered above Ayodhya, bestowing prosperity upon the entire world with its light, has been witnessed with our own eyes today.

“Hindu society has proven its goodness for five and a half centuries. The Ram Temple has been built, and Ram Lalla has arrived.”

The general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Champat Rai, said the ceremony marked the formal completion of the construction of the Ram temple. The saffron colour of the flag symbolises fire and the rising sun represents sacrifice and dedication, he said.
