Congress MP and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that the BJP-RSS stand for centralisation of power and want compliance from the people of the country instead of hearing their voice.
Addressing party workers at the UDF Maha Panchayath in Ernakulam, Rahul said, “If you look slightly deeply at the difference between the BJP, the RSS and the Congress party, you will see that they stand for centralisation of power, and we stand for decentralisation of power.”

“They want blind compliance from the people of India; they do not want to hear the voice of the people of India,” he added.
The Congress leader asserted that there’s a political battle taking place in Kerala, and ideological and political one at the national level. “The ideological attack of the BJP and the RSS is designed to create a culture of silence.”

‘BJP-RSS want to deliver India’s wealth to select few’
He accused the BJP and its ideological front RSS of wanting to deliver country’s wealth to a select few business houses. “They want an India where all our people’s assets belong to a select few people. And they know that it can only be possible if the voice of the Indian people is silenced,” he claimed.
Rahul promised to give the people of Kerala a government which is responsive and which listens to their problems. “The Congress party is going to give the people of Kerala a government which is responsive, listens to them, and resolves the massive unemployment problem,” he said.
‘MGNREGA changes attack on poor’
He also slammed the Narendra Modi government over the issue of MGNREGA, terming the changes in the UPA-era scheme and its renaming “an attack on the rights of the poor.”
“There’s an issue on MGNREGA, which has become a national issue. The recent changes to it by the Modi government are an attack on the rights of the Indian poor people. We don’t agree with how it has been revoked,” he added.
