The BJP core group convened a high-level meeting on Saturday at the residence of BJP National President JP Nadda in Delhi to finalize the party’s candidate list for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The meeting, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior BJP leaders from Bihar, primarily focused on finalizing the party’s electoral strategy, seat-sharing arrangements, and candidate selection.

According to sources, the BJP’s Bihar election committee has already submitted panels of potential candidates to the central leadership. The party is likely to release its first list of candidates by October 13, reflecting a coordinated NDA slate rather than a BJP-exclusive one. NDA allies, including the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and the Hindustani Awam Morcha, have struck a conciliatory tone ahead of the announcement.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who had earlier demanded 40 seats, expressed confidence in the BJP leadership, signaling that an agreement is imminent. Similarly, Hindustani Awam Morcha President and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who had requested 15 seats, is also expected to accept the final seat-sharing formula following top-level interventions.
The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results declared on November 14. The meeting is seen as a decisive step in shaping the BJP’s approach and strengthening its prospects in the state elections.
Meanwhile, the NDA has reportedly finalized the seat-sharing formula for the Bihar polls. According to sources, the Janata Dal (U) and the BJP are likely to contest 102 and 101 seats, respectively.
The formal announcement is expected to be made before or by Monday after a crucial meeting of the BJP core group in Delhi. The seat-sharing formula is seen as a major development ahead of the elections, which will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11.
