Who is Nitin Nabeen, the new BJP national working president

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary board on Sunday appointed Bihar Cabinet minister Nitin Nabin as its national working president. The appointment of Nabin, a cabinet minister in the Bihar Government, came into effect immediately. He is likely to replace Union Minister JP Nadda, who has been holding the post of BJP national president since January 2020.

“The BJP Parliamentary Board has appointed Shri Nitin Nabin, Cabinet Minister, Bihar Government, as National Working President of the party. This appointment comes into immediate effect,” the party said in a press release.

Who is Nitin Nabeen, the new BJP national working president?

PM Modi described him as a “hardworking Karyakarta” known for his “humble” nature and “grounded” style of working.

“He is a young and industrious leader with rich organisational experience and has an impressive record as MLA as well as Minister in Bihar for multiple terms. He has diligently worked to fulfil people’s aspirations. He is known for his humble nature and grounded style of working. I am confident that his energy and dedication will strengthen our Party in the times to come. Congratulations to him on becoming the BJP National Working President,” Modi said on X.

Nabin is said to be the youngest working president of the BJP. Currently serving as a minister in the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar Cabinet, Nabin combines both – youth and organisational experience.

Known for his strong connection with the people, Nabin has also worked extensively within the BJP’s organisational structure, including the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. He currently holds the responsibility of the BJP Chhattisgarh in-charge.

He was born in 1980, the same year the BJP was founded, in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His father was late Naveen Kishor Prasad Sinha and his mother was late Meera Sinha. He is married to Deepmala Srivastava. The couple has two children — a son and a daughter, both minors. He has completed his education up to the Intermediate level and belongs to the Kayastha community.
