The Election Commission of India on Sunday reported a significant milestone in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. As of August 24, documents from 98.2 per cent of electors have been received, with only 8 days remaining for the submission deadline of September 1, the ECI said in its daily press note.
With a 98.2 per cent document submission rate achieved in just 60 days, averaging 1.64 per cent per day, 1.8 per cent of electors were remaining to submit their documents, with efforts being made to collect the remaining documents, the ECI said.

While 7.24 crore electors are in the draft rolls, with 0.16 per cent claims and objections received so far, 3,28,847 new electors have submitted their forms and declarations, having attained or will attain the age of 18 years.
Verification of documents would be completed by September 25, 2025, and the final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published by September 30.
