A sea of people continued to swarm the Ram temple here on Wednesday, two days after the consecration ceremony, even as the Uttar Pradesh administration tightened the safety measures at the temple premises to prevent any untoward incident.

The state government also requested all VVIPs to plan their visit to the temple later and inform the district authorities at least one week in advance.

Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, DG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar along with other local officials are present on the spot since early morning to monitor the swelling crowd.

Officials, however, said people had ‘darshan’ of Ram Lalla in a smooth manner on Wednesday as compared to the day before.

On Tuesday, there was chaos when a huge crowd entered the temple premises. It was then decided that darshan would be done by forming a long queue from outside the temple.

Over 5 lakh devotees had paid a visit to the temple on Tuesday, officials claimed.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had appealed to devotees to have darshan with patience.

Bus services to Ayodhya from Lucknow and other parts of the state which was suspended on Tuesday , remained paralyzed till Wednesday afternoon.

The Ayodhya district administration and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust have decided to felicitate continuous darshan from 6 am to 10 pm, District Magistrate Nitish Kumar said.

“We are trying to ensure that no devotee faces any kind of problem. One thousand security personnel have been deployed inside and outside the temple. This arrangement will continue for the next few days,” RAF Deputy Commandant Arun Kumar Tiwari said.

IG Range, Ayodhya, Praveen Kumar said adequate arrangements are in place to deal with the rising crowd at any day. He also appealed to the elderly and the disabled to plan their travel after two weeks.

Meanwhile, all state ministers are slated to have darshan of Ram Lalla on February 1, Uttarakhand ministers on Frbruary 2 and Rajasthan ministers on February 3.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his family are scheduled to worship at the Ram temple on February 4.
