Days after the violence in Asansol, the West Bengal government has begun the process for compensation for damage to public property by the miscreants.
On Tuesday, a team from the Asansol North police station made a public announcement using loud speakers in the Jahangir Mohalla where the violence had broken out last week.

Following this, a police team urged the mosque authorities to reduce the volume of the loudspeakers, triggering anger among the local Muslim community members.
A group of people gathered outside the police outpost late on Friday night to stage a protest. Soon, more people gathered in the area, and a scuffle broke out in front of the police post.
The angry mob allegedly pelted stones and vandalised the police outpost, damaging several government and private vehicles.
The police have so far arrested seven people in connection with the violence and efforts are underway to nab the remaining miscreants.
