A gang of six armed robbers looted a bank and decamped with a booty of around 15 kg gold and about Rs 5.5 lakh in cash in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday morning.
According to the police, the robbery occurred at the ESAF Small Finance Bank branch located in the Khitauli area.

As soon as the bank opened, the miscreants came on three motorcycles and entered the bank one by one. They observed the staff and customers for some time and then pulled out guns and threatened everyone with dire consequences if anyone raised any alarm.
The robbers then collected the gold and cash from the bank and placed it in bags before fleeing on their bikes in separate directions.
After that, the bank employees sounded the alarm and informed the police. The police reached the spot along with DIG Atul Singh, SP Sampat Upadhyay, and other officials.
The police officials alerted police of three adjoining districts while setting up checkpoints at various spots. The police are also checking the bank’s CCTV footage to identify the robbers.
Further investigations are on in the matter.
