According to Lovepreet’s parents, Prakash Singh and Sukhdeep Kaur, acquaintances sharing accommodations with their son in Russia informed them that Lovepreet, along with two other Punjabi youths, had been detained by the Russian military.

The revelation has heightened the family’s anxieties, who now desperately fear that the youth might have become entangled in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The missing youth’s mother, Sukhdeep Kaur, expressed her agonizing wait to hear her son’s voice, stating that the household has been gripped by constant worry.

The family’s distress was further compounded when some unidentified unscrupulous elements defrauded them of approximately Rs 1 lakh.

The fraudsters had promised to facilitate a phone conversation with Lovepreet, but switched off their mobile phones and went untraceable as soon as the money was transferred.

In an emotional plea, the aggrieved family members, accompanied by Lovepreet’s brothers Jaswinder Singh and Bikramjit Singh, have urged the Punjab state government, the Union Government, and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to intervene immediately.

They have requested diplomatic channels to trace Lovepreet’s whereabouts and ensure his safe repatriation to India.

Meanwhile, showing solidarity in times of crisis, the residents of Gaggomahal village have gathered to support the family and are holding community prayers for the youth’s safe return.
