Former Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki from Kanpur suffered a setback on Friday when the Allahabad High Court dismissed his application seeking to quash the proceedings in a case registered against him under the Gangster Act.

The order was passed by a single bench of Justice Samit Gopal.

A case was registered against Irfan under the Gangster Act at the Jajmau police station in December 2022. He has been named as a gang leader in the case.
Irfan had filed an application in the high court seeking to quash the entire proceedings, including the summons order issued by the trial court.
Presently, the SP leader is on bail, granted by the High Court in this case in September ,2025.
