The Allahabad High Court has extended the interim bail of Samajwadi Party leader and former MLA from the Sisamau seat in Kanpur Haji Irfan Solanki till December 17. The court also stayed the trial proceedings against the SP leader in an extortion case.
A single bench of Justice Sameer Jain delivered the order on Monday. The next hearing in the case will be held on December 17.

On October 13, Irfan Solanki received an interim relief from the Allahabad High Court.
In December 2022, the case was registered against Irfan Solanki, builder Haji Wasi, Shahid Lari, and Qamar Alam on charges of extortion, fraud, and abuse in the Jajmau police station in Kanpur based on the allegation of complainant Vimal Kumar that he owned 1,000 square meters of land in Jajmau and that they had illegally encroached upon his land.
